River Tavy, Devon
This shot of the River Tavy was completely unexpected. Usually if I think there is a chance of a great sunset I will put myself in a fairly open location that I know well in order to make the most of it. On this particular day the weather had been mostly overcast and I thought it would be another good opportunity to go in search of the fungi I had seen growing in Coffin Wood the year before. The fungi were not to be found, so I spent a couple of hours enjoying the woods. As the light faded I stated on my way back and saw this unbelievable reflection in the waters of the River Tavy Tavy. I can only assume that the overhead cloud had taken on a rich orange colour as certainly no sun light was striking the scene directly.
