Gloomy Skies at the Cleave
Tavy Cleave, Dartmoor
It's always great to take successful images in the middle of the day, but surprisingly difficult to do so. The light is often flat, and the skies boring so making compelling images becomes almost impossible. The menacing clouds on this August day combined with the strong sunlight on the heather made for quite a dramatic scene, a perfect opportunity to shoot a hawthorn tree which I had been eyeing up for a while!
