The light and clarity in the air were just perfect from this shot. I have always wanted to get a good photo of my home village of Peter Tavy from this viewpoint but the weather often disappoints. These conditions may seem fairly commonplace in the summer, but infact it is very rare that you get such clarity in the air which si so important to making this image sucessful.
The image gives the impression of being shot with a fisheye lens, but the apparent foreground distortion is just the natural lie of the land. For me the foreground is crucial in framing Peter Tavy and helps to carry a central composition which rarely works!
