I would be surprised if I am ever presented with such an outstanding photographic opportunity again in Iceland. The workshop attendees and I worked hard for this opportunity, hiking for six days up to this point, often through wind rain and even sandstorms. Quite frankly I would hike for a month to get the combination of light and location that we had on this evening. It's one of the few times I have genuinely been in awe of the landscape. It also I think speak volumes for the unique opportunities that backpacking and particularly wild camping can bring.
