Lightning on the Drakensberg Escarpment.

Cathedral Lightning

Drakensberg Escarpment, South Africa

Lightning storms are a regular occurrence during the summer in the Drakensberg. Often this means that you hide in your tent whilst the mother of all hail storms hits. However on this particular evening the storm was a little further along the escarpment and after pressing the shutter button upwards of 100 times I had some luck! This is Rockeries Pass with the Cathedral Ridge in the distance.
