Torridonian Sandstone

nr Drum Bad a' Ghaill, Inverpolly, Scotland

Arriving at night, the conditions that greeted us on our first morning in Inverpolly/Assynt certainly weren't welcoming but there was plenty of drama. The prevalent rock type of the area is Torridonian sandstone which formed more than a billion years ago.
