Broken Skye

The Storr is possibly Skye's best known and loved landmark. Its easy to understand why when you see the view. Towering pinnacles of rock looking over lochs, mountains on clear days, and onto mainland Scotland. I imagine that there is not a view like this in the world. My first visit to the Storr was a rather miserable one marked by rain, wind and poor viasability. My return early one morning was threatening to be more of the same but fortunately an hour or so after sunrise the cloud broke up creating a dramatic atmosphere, ideally suited to the Storr. The main rock is known as the 'Old Man of Storr' and it is suprisingly large when seen in person.
