Stac Pollaidh and Silver Birch

Feur-Loch, Inverpolly, Assynt, Scotland

The birch trees seem to particularly love it up in Scotland and beautiful trees they are too. This little group lies on the edge of Feur-loch, which you have to walk around to access the mountains on the other side of the valley.
This shot was taken on our way to the top of Sgurr Tuath during a brief spell of sunshine. Just 20 minutes later we were walking though driving rain in truly miserable conditions!
