This rainbow was the absolute highlight of a trip to Skye in September of 2008. The weather was mostly overcast but on the worst of days the cloud started to break up at sunset. After driving to find a suitable subject I found this group of trees. As I left the car the rainbow was still very feint but I ran hopefully through 100m or so of bog to reach the location and was rewarded when the rainbow suddenly burst into life. I suspect I will find it difficult to photograph a rainbow better than this one, having tried all year.
