Snowdonia
Snowdonia doesn’t suffer from the massive weight of visitor numbers present in the Lake District and is probably the best mountain environment south of Scotland. The National Park is of course names after Snowdon itself an impressive peak with great photographic opportunities, but there are other equally impressive peaks in Snowdonia. Perhaps my favourite location I have visited to date is Castell y Gwynt, a outcrop of rock which I have now visited several times despite a somewhat strenuous hike!
